Apple TV+ sets premiere date for DOPE THIEF

Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book “Dope Thief,” the series follows long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern Seaboard. The show stars Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Amir Arison, Ving Rhames, Dustin Nguyen, and Kate Mulgrew.

Dope Thief is coming to Apple TV+ on March 14th, 2025 from Apple Studios and Scott Free Productions. The show is based on Dennis's novel and stars Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Amir Arison, Dustin Nguyen, Nesta Cooper, Ving Rhames, and Kate Mulgrew.

The show was created and written by Peter Craig (the screenwriter behind Top Gun Maverick and The Town) writing and directing for his first TV project and produced by Peter and Ridley Scott, who also directs the pilot.
ABOUT
Dennis Tafoya is the author of three crime novels set in and around Philadelphia. His short stories have appeared in magazines and anthologies such as Philadelphia Noir and Best American Mystery Stories. His work has been nominated for multiple awards and been optioned for film and television.
